Wedding & Editorial Photographer in Bordeaux

In brief: Tristan Perrier is a wedding photographer in Bordeaux specialising in editorial and fine art photography. His style stands out for bright, natural and romantic images, shot exclusively in natural light. Active since 2016, he works on Arcachon Bay, across the Gironde, throughout France and abroad.

Some people's talent strikes you from the very first meeting. Tristan Perrier is one of them. A wedding photographer based in Bordeaux, he has spent nearly ten years capturing life's most precious moments with a sensitivity and an artistic eye entirely his own. We work together regularly on weddings and events, and each time I am impressed by his ability to seize the emotion of a moment and turn a glance or a gesture into a timeless image.

This article is a chance to introduce you to his world, his journey and his approach, so that you understand why I recommend him without hesitation to every couple I work with.

An unusual path: from a Super 8 camera to wedding photography

Tristan's love of images goes back a long way. It all began in the early 1980s, when his grandparents gave him a small cine camera for Christmas. He was only seven, but it clicked straight away. That little magic box capturing movement and light became his obsession. By the age of eleven he was already making his own short films, filming everything around him with insatiable curiosity.

Yet life first took him down other paths. After studying business, Tristan spent some twenty years managing large specialist stores. A demanding job, far from the lens, but one that gave him a keen sense of organisation, of human relationships and of service. Qualities that would prove invaluable in the next chapter of his story.

In 2016, everything changed. With his wife's support, Tristan made the brave decision to leave retail and devote himself entirely to his passion. He settled in Caudéran, opposite the Parc Bordelais, and officially launched his business as a professional photographer. Bordeaux is not the city where he grew up, but it is the city where he grew as an artist. Its streets, its light and its vineyards became his everyday playground.

The editorial style: a luminous, romantic signature

When you first discover Tristan's work, you are immediately struck by the softness and brightness of his images. This is no accident: he invested months of training with Christophe Serrano, a renowned photographer in the south-east of France, to master this artistic approach completely.

Tristan's editorial style: bright, soft and timeless images.

But what exactly is the editorial style in wedding photography? It is an approach defined by bright, airy images, soft pastel and natural tones, enhanced textures and romantic colours. Unlike classic documentary photography, the editorial style seeks to create an atmosphere and to tell a story through light and composition. Every shot looks like a painting, and every moment becomes a work of art.

What sets Tristan apart within this approach is his uncompromising choice to work exclusively in natural light. No flash, no artificial lighting. Just daylight, the glow of dusk, the light that filters through a window or brushes a face in the early morning. This rigour gives his images an authenticity and a softness that artificial light could never reproduce.

“Tristan Perrier, more than a photographer, was a true blessing for our wedding. From our very first meeting, he created a unique bond, combining professionalism, sensitivity and deep humanity.”

Tristan Perrier's services

Wedding photography

This is the heart of his work, and where his talent truly comes into its own. Tristan does not simply photograph a wedding: he lives it, he feels it, he captures its essence. From the preparations to the first dance, through the ceremony, the glances exchanged, the tears of joy and the bursts of laughter, he is there, discreet and attentive, to capture every emotion.

His approach is deeply human. Before the big day, he takes the time to meet the couple and to understand their story, their wishes and their personalities. This genuine connection shows in every image: the couples are natural and relaxed, and the photos radiate sincerity.

Engagement sessions

This is one of Tristan's favourite moments. Engagement sessions are those magical occasions when a couple celebrates their bond in front of the camera, often a few months before the wedding. It is a chance to get used to the photographer's presence, to build trust, and to come away with images that tell your love story.

Arcachon Bay is one of his favourite settings for these sessions. Between the Dune du Pilat, the nature reserves of Le Teich, the wild beaches of Cap Ferret and the oyster villages, the backdrops are endless and always spectacular. Tristan knows how to make the most of every light and every season to create breathtaking images.

Portraits

Tristan has always had a soft spot for portraits. In fact, that is where he started when he set up as a professional photographer. His portrait sessions last about two hours and take place outdoors, on Arcachon Bay or in Bordeaux, in one or two different locations depending on the mood you are after. The photographs are retouched and delivered in high definition through a private gallery.

Tristan's favourite locations

As a travelling photographer, Tristan works all over the region and far beyond. His favourite settings are ours too, and it is often in these exceptional places that we find ourselves working together:

  • Arcachon Bay: fine sandy beaches, pine forests, oyster villages, the Dune du Pilat, and the nature reserves of Le Teich and the Banc d'Arguin.
  • Cap Ferret: its colourful cabins, its wild beaches on the ocean side and its sunsets on the Bay side.
  • Bordeaux: the Place de la Bourse and its water mirror, the Allées Tourny, the Jardin Public, the Chartrons and Saint-Michel.
  • The Bordeaux vineyards: châteaux, chartreuses and wine estates make prestigious backdrops.
  • The Médoc, the Dordogne, the Charentes: all places Tristan is happy to travel to.
  • France and abroad: Tristan also works throughout France, in Europe and as far as the United States for destination weddings.

What his clients say

Tristan's talent is not only expressed through his images. It is also his way with people, his kindness, his discretion and his professionalism that leave a lasting impression on everyone who calls on him. His clients' testimonials speak for themselves: Tristan is unanimously recommended by the couples who have entrusted him with their wedding.

The same words come up again and again in this feedback: humanity, sensitivity, professionalism, a reassuring presence. One client describes how movingly Tristan captured their civil wedding during a difficult period of health restrictions. Another speaks of a unique bond, far beyond a simple photographer-client relationship.

His work has also caught the eye of the international press. His photographs have been published in leading magazines such as Magnolia Rouge, Amber & Muse, and even the prestigious British magazine TATLER. Recognition that confirms the exceptional quality of his work.

Our collaboration: Tristan and Adam

When you organise a wedding or an exceptional event, every supplier plays an essential part. And when those suppliers know each other, respect each other and share the same commitment to excellence, the result is always greater than the sum of its parts.

That is exactly what happens when Tristan and I work together. He captures the moments; I create the flavours. He immortalises the emotion of a glance between the newlyweds; I compose a menu that tells their story through its dishes. We share the same attention to detail, the same love of beautiful, well-made things, and above all the same wish to make every event unforgettable.

What I particularly appreciate about Tristan is his discretion and his sense of timing. When I plate a dish or flambé a dessert in front of the guests, he is there at just the right moment, without ever getting in the way of the service. And the images he takes are superb every time. He is a true working partner, someone you can rely on completely.

Whether for a wedding in Cap Ferret, a reception at a Bordeaux château or a private dinner on Arcachon Bay, our complementary crafts give clients a complete and consistent experience, where every detail is captured and every flavour is immortalised.
